Putting Employee and Visitor Safety First

Health and Safety is vital to keeping your employees and visitors safe when on your site. We have been working with companies for many years, helping them improve all areas of their business by reducing risk and hazards. Last month we were delighted to send our Safety Advisor from here at Ridgeway to work with DJ Grab Services on improving site safety for their business.
DJ Grab Services provide specialist construction waste management, aggregate and topsoil supply services to commercial and domestic clients throughout London, Surrey, Sussex and Kent and is committed to ensuring that all employees and visitors are safe whilst on their site.
To achieve this to the highest standard, they have recently made, under our instruction, a number of safety improvements on site.
The very first change they chose to make was installing a non-PPE zone located directly outside the office, allowing visitors without PPE to move safely between their car and the office.

We also identified that employees were parking directly in front of the assembly point. Hatched markings were put down to stop this happening.

The main safety enhancement that was carried out on site was the installation of pedestrian walkways throughout the area, giving clear segregation between moving vehicles and pedestrians.

To ensure that the improvements carried out and the new safety features installed are used to the maximum, all employees will undertake updated site induction training in the upcoming months.

Risk Assessments, Safe Systems Of Work and individual Risk Analysis for all their Yard Plant has increased their awareness and allowed them to train more effectively going forward.
