The Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness states that drivers are legally responsible for the condition of their vehicle when in use on the road and that drivers must report any defects, or symptoms of defects, that could prevent the safe operation of the vehicle. If a vehicle is found to be in an unroadworthy condition, a delayed or immediate prohibition notice will be issued depending on the severity.
Here at Ridgeway Training, our walkaround checks and defect training course provides peace of mind that drivers fully understand their responsibilities when undertaking regular checks and the importance of correctly identifying defects. Drivers will also learn of the consequences for them and the impact for the operator when these crucial checks are missed.
